Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how YOU determines whether to update packages using delta rpms vs. downloading and updating an app with a regular binary rpm. The reason I'm asking is that this morning I was letting YOU update the stock kernel-default on my 9.3 system. Given my configuration, it was going to update kernel 2.6.11.4-21.7-default to 2.6.11.4-21.8-default plus the kernel source, kernel nongpl, kernel syms and ltmodem packages. In the past, whenever YOU updated the kernel it downloaded the delta rpms which took a lot less time to download given their small size. In fact, YOU showed that the estimated size of today's update was going to be around 5 MB. However, I noticed that instead of downloading the delta rpms, YOU was downloading the full kernel package. I cancelled the download and tried again, but YOU did the same thing. I did check to see if deltas were available from the mirror I had selected (University of Chicago) and they were there. I also tried another mirror (Georgia) and got the same result. So at this point I'm stumped as to why YOU is updating using the full rpm instead of using deltas. As I'm on dialup, I'd like avoid the approx. 60 MB download and figure out how to get YOU to update with the deltas since they are available. Any ideas? -- sktsee
