I recently bought this printer/scanner for the kids and was wondering if anyone has been able to get it to work with Suse? I downloaded the cups drivers for the x73 but they didnt work. I realise [now:)] that this is a "win printer" and prolly wont work but I guess it won't hurt to ask anyway. Cheers, Glenn

Their drivers usually require lpd. That should get you started. --Jerry Open-Source software isn't a matter of life or death... ...It's much more important than that!

X-73 driver is not compatable to X-75 (Its crazy but with Lexmark, 10 printers- and 10 different drivers even though the version numbers are close together. I have a Z35 and it will not work with a Z33 but will work with a Z25.

I got the drivers from lexmark for linux that I am still trying to compile when I get time from all of the other cool things I am learning from my SuSE 8.1 box. Look and see if they have a driver that might run under linux and start converting or check out the archive under this listing. I think I saw something about X-75 about a month ago, im not sure. If that do not help and no one on the list has the answer just yet then put the printer in the closet and go get a cheap printer that do work with linux. The driver for the X-75 will pop up one day when someone has the time to work on that particular printer. In the mean time happy surfing for the good old timer ;-) PS: if your using a dualboot then you can continue using it with the other OS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The most valueable Treasure you have, lay within you.
