Hello, I'm wondering how an USB Wacom tablet may be used as the mouse driver. I was told that there is no problems to use a such device. But if I remove, or do not plug the tabler how the system will behave. Thanks for your help. Pascal MiQUET Responsable Développement Tél : +33 4 75 60 32 90 GSM: +33 6 60 58 55 77

Quite nicely.

XFree86 requires one pointing device to be permanent. Configuring XFree86 4 to use two input devices (a Grapphire and a PS/2 trackball, for example) is very easy, but if you don't plan on keeping the Grapphire plugged in 100% of the time, you need to make the PS/2 device the primary pointer. SaX2 warns you about this. On a side note, SaX2 is quite capable of configuring a Wacom USB tablet on its own, whether it be the only pointing device or used in conjunction with another... ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I haven't noticed wether you recieved a reply to this or not. I've got a usb wacom tablet hooked up alongside a ps/2 mouse and it works fine I haven't bothered setting up wheel support yet but other than that it works (including the pen). (WARNING don't leave the wacom mouse or pen laying on the tablet when you are using the ps/2 mouse, you will get unpredictable cursor movement that can be a pain to track down if you don't remember this note) anyway here's a snip from my XF86Config file that shows the relevant settings Section "InputDevice" Driver "keyboard" Identifier "Keyboard[0]" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbKeyCodes" "xfree86" Option "XkbLayout" "en" Option "XkbModel" "pc104" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "mouse" Identifier "Mouse[1]" Option "ButtonNumber" "5" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "Name" "AutoDetected" Option "Protocol" "imps/2" Option "Vendor" "AutoDetected" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "mouse" Identifier "Mouse[3]" Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "InputFashion" "Mouse" Option "Mode" "Absolute" Option "Name" "Autodetection" Option "Protocol" "imps/2" Option "Vendor" "Sysp" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection the last section is for the wacom graphire tablet good luck dave
