I have being looking for drivers for about two days now and tried a few but nothing that allow me to print. The Z32 drivers at least seem to comunicate part of printer and flashes inidicatin an error. My HP Deskjet called quits a few days ago it at least worked so had an Z12 around believed that be simple matter setup but nada ,nothing as worked well so far. I evenm tried turboprint with out any success either. So i decide to see if anyone on the list had managed the imposible. I do not give up easy but i am starting get a bit annoyed with darn printer. If do not manage get working by Monday i will probably get an epson of some kind. I read that epson 800 are quite good. Alex :) Jon Pennington wrote:

IIRC, the Z12 is a Windows GDI printer, and has a printer-specific driver structure. Feel free to prove me wrong on this, but I can't find reference to it anywhere. Lexmark's driver search page (http://www.lexmark.com/drivers/index.html) makes the answer simple but disappointing:
"Lexmark does not currently support the selections you have made. Please click the 'Reset' button and try your search again."
If you're anything like me, that won't stop you. I've already taken the liberty of scanning freshmeat.net (a good place to start looking for obscure printer drivers), and didn't see anything promising there. Hitting google.com and doing a snappy search there, the outlook is very bleak. Have you considered a non-proprietary or at least known-working printer, such as an older Epson model?

There is *one* other option. You might try contacting Easy Software Products (http://www.easysw.com/) about their Print Pro package. The Z12 is not listed on the Lexmark products page, but there's a chance it's out of date. I'd personally endorse the Epson option. The 777 looks to be supported, assuming you have a USB-capable kernel. I like my 440, except that after three years of infrequent use, the print quality severely deteriorated, presumably due to lack of use. :) ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
