[opensuse] opensuse 11.2 kde 4.3.1 add to task manager
I have just installed 11.2 and can't figure out how to add applications to the task manager. In 10.3 there was an add widgets forf a non-kde application. That doesn't seem to be available in 11.2, nor did google turn up anything. Thanks in advance,. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You can't add them to the panel if the widgets are locked. So first unlock the widgets. the open the launcher, and right click and the option will be there. Don't run with the widgets unlocked in 4.3.1. It is simply not stable enough and your desktop will get screwed up at the first puff of wind. After upgrading to 4.3.3 its somewhat better, but even there my desktop has 6 activities for 4 desktops and none of them have the RED X to remove the extras. Every once in a while one of these extra activities will appear on a desktop without my bidding. Its times like these I would like to have a workshop screw vice bolted to the chair of the developers who release this stuff and ignore bugzilla. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

unlock widgets and then add the "quick launch" widget to the taskmanager. or unlock widgets, open dolphin in the bin directory for the app you wish on the taskbar, and drag the icon to the desired location on the taskbar and there are probably other possibilities. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not an answer, but isn't it just insane that for the latest and greatest DTE that this question needs asking? You're far from the first to ask. I've seen the answer many times, and never remember what it is, or was. I find the obtuse KDE4 configuration methodology, among other KDE4 "features", completely insane as a replacement for KDE3. Much as I dislike Gnome, I find it easier to figure out than KDE4. FWIW, there is an optional KDE3 repo for 11.2 available. That works for me far better than KDE4. -- The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 1 Corinthians 7:3 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
