Are there any suggestions as to the best way to install the KDE 2.1 RPMs on a SuSE 7.1 box (for example, what order should they be installed, and what parameters to pass)? Also, there are a number "common" files in the "i18n" directory, all of which I've downloaded. Do all these need to be installed, as well? -Thomas Long long@billsoft.com -- Using Caldera OpenLinux 2.4
I usually just use yast1. Download everything first, then install them all at once. This should take care of dependencies etc -- On Thursday 01 March 2001 07:29, Thomas Long wrote:

I used rpm -Uhv --nodeps --force *.rpm Apparently it worked :-)

- -tosi Tor, Are we talkin' releas here? I just looked at the site and they say it released. I was too tied up in installing 7.1 to notice. Where are they? I looked on the KDE site and they have nothing under stable right now.

i18 dirtectory contains the translated messages for diffirent languages. Like for russian you will take the the one that has the "ru" or for german you will need the "de" the need is if you want to have your KDE in your nativa language if you do not install anything from 18n rpms than the messages will be only in english. -- Togan Muftuoglu
