I have installed 6.3 twice. I need to be able recompile the kernel to add support for TV card. When I try to compile the kernel it errors with something about Pentium pro. I don't have a pentium pro. I have Athlon 600 and select it for the Kernel. I can compile with any other cpu type except athlon which seems kind of senseless. Can anyone help please? -- ----------------------------------------------------------- rickb@tbcnet.com Rick Bousquet ----------------------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Perhaps it's because the Athlon isn't so special that it needs new parameters just to get a running system. Compile it as a K6 with MTRR enabled, kernel math emulation disabled, and SMP (for now) disabled. It will be just fine. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
