Thiking og upgrading a graphics card. However, after doing a little checking I found that many cards require a 4x AGP slot. Any idea how I can check if I have this?
I've not got the manual for my motherboard btw.
If my motherboard is not up to this, will the graphics card still work, just slower? Or will it just not work?

Probably older. The LX was the predecessor to the BX. It was iirc Intels very first chipset that supported AGP. As such, I'd be surprised if it even supports AGPx2. As for whether or not it works.. Its hard to say. Some combinations seem to work, others don't. If the LX board uses the AGP 1.0 specification you'll be fine so long as the new card supports this too, i.e. supports both AGP 1.0 and 2.0 standards. 2x and 4x refer to the bandwidth (sidebands) and PRO refers to additional power. The later has a different (wider) connector and won't work. I suggest that you check manufacturers specifications before buying. I have an ABIT BE6-II (Intel 440BX), which supports 2X with an Elsa Erazor III Pro (NVidia TNT2) 2X/4X card. No problems.
