[opensuse] openSUSE 12.3 missing udev script?
When I boot my machine I get this error message: systemd-udevd[2424]: failed to execute '/usr/lib/udev/udev-acl' 'udev-acl --action= --device=': No such file or directory Actually, I have no file udev-acl on my system and Yast does not offer it to install, it is nowhere available. Is this error of any meaning or just some output of a badly written script? If we are discussing Tw which you earlier referred, this discussion should be in opensuse-factory where Tw users congregate. "/usr/lib/udev/udev-acl" is contained in ConsoleKit on my Tw systems. But no packages on my system require ConsoleKit ??? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I don´t have Tw anymore, I went back to plain 12.3. I will look at Yast if some Tw files may have survived the downgrade process to 12.3. Malte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If you have an inconsistent system, you can do an offline upgrade with the 12.3 DVD. Everything in the DVD reverts to the original version, you have to update later. But it solves "funny" problems. Later, you have to run an rpm query like this: rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME};%{INSTALLTIME:day}; \ %{BUILDTIME:day}; %{NAME};%{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE};%{arch}; \ %{VENDOR};%{PACKAGER};%{DISTRIBUTION};%{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" --delimiter=\; \ | tee rpmlist.csv | less -S or rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME}\t%{INSTALLTIME:day} \ %{BUILDTIME:day} %-30{NAME}\t%15{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE}\t%{arch} \ %25{VENDOR}%25{PACKAGER} == %{DISTRIBUTION} %{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" | tee rpmlist | less -S to locate those packages belonging to a different distribution release. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. find out which rule calls udev-acl and which package installs this rule.
Actually, I have no file udev-acl on my system and Yast does not offer it to install, it is nowhere available.
