I have just bought a Sony CDX-MP40 car cd player which plays MP3's. When I burnt a CD with k3b, and tried it, the sound would occasionally be "jumpy", even with the car at a standstill (nothing to do with shocks). I thought it was a problem with the player, so went back to the shop and exchanged it. The problem was still there, so obviously it was not something wrong with the player, but with the MP3 CD's. I then tried to burn another mp3 CD on my son's win98 box (Nero) and found that it played just fine. I just don't understand what the problem is. The Sony user manual says ISO 9660 level 1 or 2, Joliet or Romeo. So I just compile a data cd with Joliet extensions. But why the jumpy sound? I have tried about every possible option, but I still get the problem. FX

FX =================
FX, Try burning the cd at a lower speed. I suspect that is what Nero is programmed to do automatically when dealing with audio files being burned. I have found that cutting down the burn speed to 16x or lower will help when playing on older cdroms and car cd players. In fact, I would actually recommend 12x or lower for maximum compatibility.
