[opensuse] openSUSE 15.1 DVD torrent not found on tracker
I'm downloading and sharing openSUSE 15.1 DVD through torrent. It works quite well thanks to PEX (peer exchange), but tracker.opensuse.org reports error "torrent not found".

---- Just because a torrent has a SUSE name in it doesn't mean that it was one approved for listing and tracking on the tracker site. You got it through peer exchange, but that sorta means it could have come from anywhere and could contain malware. The fact that the torrent isn't listed on the official tracker should be taken as a 'warning'. Either it is outdated or it never was an official SUSE torrent. It could be that some user just created a torrent with their favorite packages and there is nothing wrong with it. Or it could be that some trivial distro bug was corrected and a new torrent was released that had the problem corrected and installing that might give you the trivial (but perhaps annoying) bug... I'd try to check signatures on the binary packages to ensure they are signed by SUSE's release service before installing them. Of interest (to me), would be where you got the torrent file from if it isn't listed on the tracker. If you got it from the tracker website, then I'd think it more likely that it's been replaced with a newer one. -l -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It's not some random torrent I got from somewhere on internet, but the "official" one I got from https://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.1/iso/openSUSE-Leap-15.1-.... The md5 checksum of the torrent file itself hasn't changed and is 6c53e0c8e94e6aa059d6a18dc31af1d9. BitTorrent hash is correct f8da57958058d8bf7384e4919e6d966ccc1a1931.

I am not familiar with the torrent setup, and I am not sure if everything was properly set up: https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/47600 Looking at tracker.o.o, I see no torrent file for the 15.1 DVD, but the automatically generated torrents (by mirrorbrain) should be fine. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (12.1°C) member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I suggest you report it to admin@o.o - maybe we have someone who is familiar with the details. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (16.6°C) member, openSUSE Heroes. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
