[SLE] Help-Lost partition
Hello,
I started to put v7 onto my box last night, about 1.00am in the morning, but I had a power cut. Now when I turn on my PC I can boot into Windows OK, but I have lost my 10gig partition. SuSE is GONE also, and it wont let me install back over hda6 (Where it was).
I need to get to SuSE fDisk to sort out the partition table (I think). I have a print out from when I installed the last version, and am hoping to manually edit the entries of the 10gig partition. I have to get some drawings off of it.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boot from your boot-disk or cd-rom into the rescue system. You should be able to edit partitions from there. If you recreate them on the same cylinder boundaries as previously, they should magically reappear, with data (?) intact. "Delbaere, Tim" wrote:

You should just be able to boot off the CD and use the rescue system, or you can go partway through the install until you get access to a console on tty3 or 4 or whatever. Alternatively you could grab a copy of a single floppy distro with fdisk on it, and do it that way. I *think* SmallLinux comes with a copy of fdisk, but I'm probably wrong... Get tomsrtbt, a Linux that runs off a floppy. It has fdisk on it. With luck, you can then straighten out the partitioning information. --doug At 08:31 AM 10/25/2000 +0100, you wrote:
