I can't get my graphical tablet to work on my new SuSE. On SuSE8.1 it was useable as an USB wheel mouse, but on 9.1 there is no movement visible of the cursor when I choose one of the USB mice. How can I fix this? -- Frits Wüthrich

Check you have modules hid (or usbhid) and wacom installed. If you have, post the output of lsmod and lsusb. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.

modprobe hid (or usbhid) modprobe wacom and try using the devices,. # grep -i wacom /boot/config-2.6.4-54.5-default CONFIG_USB_WACOM=m # grep -i hid /boot/config-2.6.4-54.5-default # USB Human Interface Devices (HID) CONFIG_USB_HID=m CONFIG_USB_HIDINPUT=y CONFIG_HID_FF=y CONFIG_HID_PID=y CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV=y Everything is there to make them work. OK, from lsmod, you have both hid and wacom modules installed. Module Size Used by hid 40640 0 wacom 12160 0 evdev 9600 1 ================================================ I have in /etc/XF86config for the mouse pad and the USB mouse ....... Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "Pen" Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "InputFashion" "Pen" Option "Mode" "Absolute" Option "Name" "Graphire Tablet (USB)" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "SendCoreEvents" "on" Option "Type" "stylus" Option "Vendor" "WACOM" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "Wacom Mouse" Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "InputFashion" "Tablet" Option "Mode" "Relative" Option "Name" "Graphire Cursor (USB)" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "Type" "cursor" Option "Vendor" "WACOM" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection Also an old document http://linux.co.uk/Pages/howtos/Wacom-USB-mini-HOWTO.html mentions *Section "Module"* *Load "xf86Wacom.so"* *EndSection for /etc/X11/XF86Config The wacom module is /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o which I guess should go in as Load "wacom" * *There is other stuff on www.google.com/linux, but it's quite dated and probably not relevant to current kernel and XFree86. * You should only need those three modules to get them to work, could be XF86config that needs the attention. It's odd you are not seeing the usbmouse in lsusb if it's plugged in. You can also try "rchotplug restart" to see if that kicks them into life. Otherwise this may be one for SuSE support. On my laptop, I have besides the mouse pad, a USB mouse and a USB serial port, both working, the webcam and my Kodak camera both work when connected. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... I got a new toy for Passover, something I've wanted for a long time, a wacom tablet. I picked up a graphire3 which is usb. I can't seem to get it working, and I'm thinking that maybe I don't have modules for it on the system. I tried to follow the instructions at this URL http://www.linuxlibrarian.org/blog/index.php?p=188 But got nowhere. I've never had one of these before, so I was thinking that maybe the fact that I have a mouse in the USB is the reasons for not even getting output from the mouse. But when I use just the wacom, I get no input. So that might be a seocnd issue. I see no wacom when I greped the kernel tree. Has anyone expertise with these things? You need to use sax2 ( or yast/hardware/graphics card and monitor ) to install it, look for input devices in sax2 this device is there. I have one and it is working. Thadeu On Tuesday 03 May 2005 20:19, Ruben Safir wrote:

I needed to reboot the system. I think I might have upgraded the kernel prior to this and forgot to reboot. But now I've lost my scroll wheel, and the sensitivity of the tablet itself needs to be improved. I loose the ned of the screens. There is no man wasom. Do you know how to make these adjustments?
