There must be a way to transfer text from a spreadsheet to the OOo word processor. I'm just not finding it. Whenever I copy a block of text and then paste it onto the OOo word processor screen, the block is confined to a box. Is there a way to transfer it so that it is plain text? I found I could do this by transferring a block of text (or rows of numbers) to KWord, but for some reason, when I saved the resulting document as rtf in KWord, OOo could not read the resulting document! In any case, I would prefer to work within OOo. dj tuchler

Tuchler: [How do I copy text from a spreadsheet, into the OOo wordprocessor, so that the text end up being plain text -- not confined to a box?] Good day Dennis, I assume you mean you want to copy the text from a number of cells in a OOo spreadsheet into a OOo text document. In OOo 1.1.3 this works: In the spreadsheet, select the spreadsheet cells you want to copy, and copy them (Edit -> Copy). In the text document, select the menu Edit, then Insert Special, then Plain Text. Best regards :o) Johnny :o)

Thank you! I was using the right mouse button for all copy and paste commands, and the right mouse button, when clicked on an OOo text document, doesn't have a paste-special entry, only paste. I didn't think to go to the Edit menu entry to get to paste that way. Thanks again dj tuchler

Dear Mr Tuchler, . . . if, i get the drift . . . Ctrl+C grabs the marked stuff you wish to copy/transfer , then in OO, Alt+E , then, S [for special] will give you choices . . . choose plain text best rgds ____________

When you paste use the 'Paste Special' function from the Edit menu and select 'Unformatted text'. I think this is the option you are requiring. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
