Hi I would like to know what are the additional files required to be able to run coreldraw9 for linux under SuSE 8.2. Under 8.1 I had not problems, but now I start the application and nothing happens. Here is the error message that I get if I start coreldraw from konsole: err:win32:CRITSECTION_WaitForCriticalSection Critical section 0x404bd9d4 (Unknown) wait timed out, retrying (20 sec) err:win32:CRITSECTION_WaitForCriticalSection Critical section 0x404bd9d4 (Unknown) wait failed err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Unhandled exception code c0000194 flags 0 addr 0x402cb418

It is because of the new glibc version under SuSE 8.2. This is e. g. also fixed within Crossover Office 2.0 (but they say it will be back-ported to a succeeding version of the Crossover Office 1.3.x branch). I don't know if this has been fixed in a newer wine-version - or even if this will be fixed in the open source wine soon :-( So go and get you an evaluation copy of Crossover Office 2.0.0 and see if it works (...;-) PLEASE tell me, how you had managed to run Corel Draw 9 until now with your SuSE 8.1: What do I have to install and so on because I want to try it with cxoffice 2.0.0 Regards, Ré

He means the Linux version of Coreldraw 9, which was made with winelib. I have it too but it was too much of a pain for me as it kept breaking. The only way to get it working again now is for Corel to release an update. I seriously doubt that will happen, though. You *might* be able to get the Windows version to work under cxoffice, but I haven't seen any discussion of that on the Codeweavers lists. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+urzo+FOexA3koIgRArzeAKCEmh9nkvug1l5fv9xNTpLMUYnJSQCfRBg3 cBpltl65t1q9Ff84VTlkDOk= =fACi -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
yes, it is a coreldraw9 version for linux (altough is running trough its own wine layer). Under 8.1 I installed the shlibs5 and a libterm library (actually designed for red hat) which was made available on the corel-linux home page but now there is no support anymore for linux on corel's sites. coreldraw9 worked good for me, I used ot one a week or so, but now it seems I have to go back to a dual-boot or win4lin.
If you are looking for any of the Word Perfect Off 2K for Linux patches I can probably help you out. I still have it running here. It is still a bit better than Star Office in functionality though not quite as stable. I haven't had any problems with it or the Corel Photo Paint for Linux. (at least not for a while anyway) John oldkerosen@surfeu.de wrote:

I'm ready to try everything.
