Having set up ppp in YaST I checked the connection with .../ppp-up generic. Not much happened. In /var/log/messages I saw that the script started executing, but never dialed. After some time the script terminated. According to the handbook, p 269, top, four files should be generated in /etc/suseppp, but I see only three - <provider>.cf is missing (in casu "generic"). I would be glad for some help - I'm tired of using Windoze to connect to the Internet, and rebooting every now and then. I think you should read the PPP-How-to. It's not that hard to just 'do it all yourself' and as far as automating ppp-connections, as much as I love SuSE, that SuSe-ppp is not thier best work. Slak and RH have better set-up tools for people trying to dial ISPs. Actually, originally, I did the stuff by hand using the How-to and even then it didn't take long and much effort. Besides, it let's you really understand what's happening and what the componants are, then dealing with any 3rd party set-ups are easier to modify as needed. -M One is most dishonest towards one's God; he is not _permitted_ to sin. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
