[opensuse] More old SuSE questions
Hello; Earlier I had problems with old SuSE 9.1. I solved many problems by upgrading to something a little newer SuSE 10.3 When I installed it, it selected a default host name for the installation. I'd like to change that, but I don't see any obvious tool to do that, nor a tool to change things like the root password. Anybody familiar with these old systems that can tell me where to look (perhaps I have to use the install disk?) Command 'passwd' changes password. Edit /etc/HOSTNAME to change hostname. Pretty sure YaST can do both, but above methods are probably easier than finding where in YaST to do them.

Changing hostname or password hasn't changed before 12.3, after which the home of hostname was futzed with. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
