[opensuse] 11.1 x64 Flash Player Dead Silent
Hi, I have continous problem - dead silent Flash Player under 11.1/x64/Firefox, on all sites. Even after I have removed PulseAudio. Once I've got sound AFTER iplayed some music in Amarok, but after reboot it get muted anyway. Other program like VLC, Amarok, Kaffeine work fine. Any suggestion(s) will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have the same problem. I was under the impression that firefox installed a 64 bit version on a 64 bit OpenSUSE system. Looking closer, there is no reference to 64 or 32 bit in either yast or on the mozilla download website. I presume all are 32 bit. Does a 64 bit version exist? In our case, flash should work because it is a 32 bit firefox and flash. On OpenSUSE firefox and flash works for video but no sound. In OpenSUSE 64 bit the 32 bit support is normally also installed to allow 32 bit software to run. Audio for flash should work, but does not. All other audio software works. :-( Al -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, no real idea currently.

openSUSE installs a 64bit Firefox on your 64bit system together with Flash 32bit and nspluginwrapper which makes it possible to use Flash 32bit inside Firefox 64bit. That basically works but makes the Flash Player a bit fragile and I see crashes (of Flash/nspluginwrapper) pretty often. But sound was never an issue for me. If you don't need pulseaudio do you also have libflashsupport removed? (while it's installed here and it still works for me).
