Installing bitmap fonts (Second Post) on Suse 8.0
dear Friends, I want to run a Delphi Compiled application using MS Sans Serif, System etc (.fon fonts) with help of wine. I had successfully installed .ttf fonts with help received from this list. Now I want to install fonts in .fon file. I did as follows. using fnt2bdf I first extracted .bdf files. then I converted them to .pcf. as root I copied to /usr/X11/lib/X11/fonts/misc. then I did fntmkdir in that dir. then xset +fp ./ the fonts do not show up in Linux look & feel settings. can somebody help me. Best Regards R. S. Patil
First thing are the fonts gzipped - like 9x15B.pcf.gz ? Try "xset fp rehash", also try running SuSEconfig. Not guaranteed to work, but it's all I can think of at the moment. "man xset" explains the "fp rehash" - it fits your situation. Regards Sid. R. S. Patil wrote:
