[opensuse] KMail 3: How to get a list of all contacts?

Hello, my mother still uses KMail on KDE3, stand alone, without contact or special address-book etc. Is there a simple possibility to create/export a list of all names and email-addresses she has received from or sent e-mails to (at least of the emails she has stored in her local mail folders)? It should be a simple solution as she has 80 years and I must be avle to explain it on the phone step by step... Unfortunately I do not have kmail anymore (due to change to KDE4 on my desktop), but if anybody can help, it would be just fantastic... In my email app, I can right click on an email address and add it to my address book.

I guess there is, but this is not what I need. (It would be impossible for her to go thru all her saved mails and do this click on each and every one...) What I need is a list of all names and e-mail addresses that can be found somehow. I don't care about doubles, I'll manage to get them out of the list - but how to create this list...? -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona http://www.daniel-bauer.com room in Barcelona: https://www.airbnb.es/rooms/2416137 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I expect you'll need some custom software that will go through all the stored email and then find and collect the addresses. There is one other possibility. Does Kmail have a collected addresses address book? Seamonkey and Thunderbird have one that collects every address that mail has been sent to. IIRC, they don't create duplicates. If there is one, it's just a matter of copying the contents to a regular address book, though it should be usable as is. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

can't you go there, at least one on a while, let alone to configure an ssh access from your home? I had also a more than 80 mom :-). you can also manage her mail to be imap, so you can have a duplicate at home (it's what I did). alas, I don't use kmail, so I don't even know where kmail store it's mails :-( jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
