Yes, we are evaluating it. No, it will not be part of 7.2 - it came a bit too late. I don't understand why some people are pushing on SuSE to roll the next release out. Do you lack some bleeding edge feature? Who prevents you from downloading the sources and compiling the package yourself? Ain't it strange to demand somebody to do something and offering nothing in exchange? Or maybe that's just different groups of people, one demanding the next release to come out asap, the other complaining that they can't afford buying too many releases a year. I apologize if I have offended somebody whith my questions. -Kastus

That's a good point, especially with as good as SuSE has gotten as of late. I'm in absolutely no hurry for another release. Perhaps they could move down to just one release a year, plus perhaps a quarterly CD that had the updates for the current version (so that it would be possible to get a hard copy rather than just off FTP). Hey, that would save money on both ends, and wouldn't waste so much extra paper either. :-) It would also increase corporate acceptance (IMO) since the release cycle would be slower. Another option I would like to see is a FTP purchasing system - were you could buy these "update" CD's every quarter and burn 'em. -Tim -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. This may not work well in country receiving the distro (or upgrade in this case) late. Example: in Singapore, the first day I could get the box from the shop is almost 7 weeks after the official launch. Your lucky guys in US already get tired on playing with it and I just got started? From this list, I realised that some other countries got it even later than me? I dunno who's fault it is, but I just feel that something is wrong along the distribution chain between SuSE and the distributors in Singapore. FTP purchase is not going to work very well here. Although Singapore has one of the best internet infrastructure in south east asia, the normal FTP traffic (from US sites) using ADSL is only about 30KBPS, it's a big pain. Life still goes on, just hope that things get better each day. : ) Dennis/sg prevents
