Does 9.1 Support the Epson Perfection 4870 Photo Scanner
Can someone who is running 9.1 check to see if YaSE lists the Epson Perfection 4870 Photo Scanner in the supported scanner list please. I'd also like to know if the Epson Stylus C83/C84 printers are also listed. Regards, Steve

Look here: http://www.epkowa.co.jp/english/linux_e/dl_scan.html In the Epson Kowa website they have drivers for Linux for almost all the epson products. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAuwE+SpJ/cZmKQqcRAm12AJ0dTuMtZVr6l0IgiekI+56EktHL9wCeMwAZ e6tjqPhxUOvbCZvU8pifpKI= =aKKf -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I had already downloaded the driver from that site, but YaST2 tells me that the driver requires something called sane-backend and I don't know what that is. Steve

Steve, That would be "sane" from your install CDs. You also should install x-sane and Kooka, alternate scanning frontends with more features then the IScan from Epson. IScan serves most of my scanning needs, but the others offer some features it doesn't. Lee -- --- KMail v1.6.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
as I remember its www.sane-project.org but what are the URL's for these others? I have not bought a scanner yet and so I am still doing my homework. Also if anyone has recommendations besides Epson ill check them out. CWSIV On Mon, 2004-05-31 at 06:24, BandiPat <SNIP>
