I am using Mozilla 1.4 on suSE 9.0 Pro. In the Inbox window I see there is a field that allows me to mark a message as Junk/spam mail. Whilst I have a fairly good filter to weed out the spam I am more worried about the items which the filter misses. Therefore the end questions is; Can Mozilla keep any record of the ones marked as spam and mark messages from those same addresses or with the same subjects as spam if further messages are received from them? I know that SpamAssassin would learn the rules but I am looking at a easier GUI method and hence the question. -- The Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Licenced Windows user Registered Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 ========================================================================

Mozilla (not sure which version, but the latest download from mozilla.org) and thunderbird which I use also learn and can either store them in a junk folder or delete them on receipt. The odd one sometimes gets mis-filtered, so I go into the Junk folder and check before doing a mass delete. The one thing I found was that after an upgrade or fresh install, though I've moved all the mail over, it takes a while before it's again effective. When started for the first time thunderbird treats all mail as spam, so you need to mark as "Not Junk" appropriately. My Inbox has been clean for the last few days with over 400 in Junk over the period. It seems they alter the character of the Junk from time to time, so "Funnies of the Day" will get junked for a while then reappear until I mark it as junk again. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
