I would like to know whether the following are supported: UMAX Astra 610P scanner with parallel interface. Fuji S3000 Digital camera with USB interface. Also is it possible to communicate to other computers via parallel or serial cable? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New Yahoo! Depends on exactly what you need to do, but look at the 'plip' package for scrips to set up an IP connection over parallel port link. For serial connections, there is telnet and minicam, and many (if not all) of the 'standard' utilities (like ssh etc) can be configured to use the serial ports - but someone else will have to point you to the info. Take a look at *Parallel Port Scanners under Linux*: <http://www.buzzard.org.uk/jonathan/scanners.html> And this: <http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2001-Jun/1194.html>
Fuji S3000 Digital camera with USB interface.
I have a usb camera that works well, guess they all should. <http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/linux/jump/0,24331,3389056,00.html>
