Hello, I am trying to instal SuSE Linux Professional 7.0 on a Pentium-4 1.6 GHz machine with two 80 GB hard disks. I need to install 7.0 since this is the only version certified with Oracle Apps 11.5.5. The first hard disk has Windows XP loaded in a partition that is not the first partition. I had a problem with the initial install itself failing. I had a recommendation from Anders to download the Pentium 4 bootdisk and did that. This helped. I was able to successfully get past the initial problem that I was facing. I have set /boot as the first partition (marked it as primary) on the first hard disk, and the swap, /opt and root partitions after the Windows XP partition on the first hard disk itself. I set LILO to be installed in the MBR. After installing 241 packages, the system reboots to complete the install. And when it does that, it initially comes up with a series of messages indicating the boot process. After some time, it repeatedly comes up with the message "hda: lost interrupt". I have let this go on for about 15 minutes and its the same thing flashing over and over again. Please help! Thanks, Sankaran _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
