Thank you Carlos for your reply. I can see your point, but that again leads me to how I can solve the problem sent with my first query:
# ./antivir-gui
WARNING: root is not in `antivir' group
ERROR: Can't connect to an X server. Please try the following:
- generate or merge `.Xauthority'. You can merge with: $ xauth merge <path-to-user-with-X-rights>/.Xauthority
How do I set this. I cannot follow the xauth merge information, but think it maybe could be solved with yast, but how ?
TIA Think I got at least part of the system:

add root to the antivir group. look in /etc/group or just use vigr [vigr gives you and exclusive vi on /etc/group similarly, vipw does the same for /etc/password] -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

add root to the antivir group.
which is kind of absurd, root doesn't need to be in any group. I think the error is another one, a programming error by the developers - and it is closed source. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Yes, it is absurd. Probably checking group membership BEFORE a file open() operation. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

As i thought, it tries to connect to a server... Best thing to get rid of this, is update your java to 1.6, and then update alternatives as root, as there is also the bug that the updating is set to manual. If you want to knowhow to do this, look at bug: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=348430
