Using KDE on my SuSE 8.2 I always wondered why it took so long to go from the login to the GUI. Just running siga because I wanted to look into some details of my machine I found that Autostart gave following information 4418 times before deciding to find another way to start the program. Invalid entry (missing "=") at /home/cons/.kde/Autostart/gkrellm Can somebody tell me why I get this message? Gkrellm does start with autostart but I would like to shorten the time it takes ;-).

Can you post the contents of /home/cons/.kde/Autostart/gkrellm please? -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org

In /.kde/Autostart/ there are two programs I want always have to show up at the start of Kde. There are three files. One called .directory and two symlinks to gkrellm and kwintv. Thats all there is.

Are you sure it's a symlink? What does it link to? -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0). GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org
