[opensuse] Help With Setting Up Hylafax Server and Client
I want to set up Hylafax Server and then client. I know the set-up program is accessed from console root by $faxsetup If you want to try a set-up go to a console prompt as root and from / enter faxsetup and you can easily see why you need Modem AT command/terminology knowledge before running it. This starts a huge shell file with user prompted questions - some of which are Modem AT type questions and my AT Modem Command Meaning is not so good as I have forgotten most terminology. I am sorry if some of my English usage is strange, after all I am upside-down in Australia...;-) and I mean no harm. O.K Can we start with any feedback on how successful anyone has been who has actually set up hylafax server and client in the first place and if anyone has created a GUI front end for all the massive set-up questions or set-up modifications Can anyone help me with Documentation on setting up Hylafax Server Hylafax Client We all know that local suse help is stuffed and Online help is even harder and Joining an IRC is about straight forward as the Opensuse directory tree from / Firstly and Finally - My PC 's clock drift is huge each day so I will apologise only once if I top load anything.

I've had it running for a couple of years I think - Hylafax takes care of all inbound faxes (they are received via asterisk) and we have a faxprinter set up in cups.
Can anyone help me with Documentation on setting up Hylafax Server Hylafax Client
There really is plenty of documentation out there - if you need help after going through that, come back with some more specific questions. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (20.6°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Unreal If you could tell me where to find the man pages or local help documentation that would be great for both server and client. Please just reply with you best URL, considering I have every factory version of openSUSE since V 10.1 and I am sure that the man pages are better and better with each change in opensuse versions with the available info on hylafax. Can we start with the location of server set-up help files that are in the opensuse 11.1 I can do the study before running the huge shell set-up file Thank you so much Per Jessen Scott Per Jessen wrote:

The best place is undoubtedly http://www.hylafax.org/ - note, I'm using one of the 4.x.x releases, not the brandnew 6.0.1

Thank you so much Per Jessen

IIRC it really was not a big deal. I think I did have some trouble getting it to work with Asterisk, but even with that, I'm pretty certain it took me no more than a couple of days, maybe three. Plus some fine-tuning later on no doubt. If it's of any use, you're welcome to a copy of my hylafax config: http://jessen.ch/files/hylafax-config.tar.gz /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.7°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
