mount directory from network linux computer
Have searched for how to mount a drive on a tcp/ip network on another computer but have had no success. Have two linux computers on tcp/ip network. I can ping both computers from each other by name or by ip address. How can I mount say the /tmp directory on the remote computer to my computer? Art
You will have to use something like a NFS server to export a directory from one computer and then you will be able to mount it on another. Search for NFS and you will find wealth of information. Avi On Saturday, August 24, 2002, at 03:31 , Art Fore wrote:

You could try ssh to transfer files,
see if ssh is installed rpm -ql ssh if not install it.
But if just dont ike file transfer, and need to mount
the directory you need to setup NFS.
Here's the url: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/NFS-HOWTO/
Hope This helps :)

Thanks for the info. I found the NFS setup in Yast2, advance network setup. It was quite easy. Works great. Art On Sat, 2002-08-24 at 17:26, Xander Solis wrote:
