[opensuse] Dolphin
Anybody use Dolphin? How do you like it? I was reading about KDE 4.0 and how they're planning on incorporating the Dolphin File Manager as an addition to Konqueror. I was wondering if people here had used it on their KDE3 desktops. Looks cool! http://enzosworld.gmxhome.de/ -- k -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

My preference is Krusader www.krusader.org, another twin pane file manager, with lots of added goodies -- Bob openSUSE 10.2 x86_64, Kernel 2.6.18.8-0.1, KDE 3.5.6 r31.4 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well, thanks to both of you. I installed Dolphin after I got home from work and gave it a quick try. I honestly think I like Konqueror better. http://www.perfectreign.com/files/images/20070329_dolphin.jpg I tried to ftp the screenshot from dolphin and realized (a) I couldn't open another tab and (b) I couldn't ftp. :P Also, I'm still on the prowl for a twin pane file manger that works like Explorer. I really like the functionality of explorer in terms of the ability to have folders on one pane and files/folders on the other, with the left pane truly following the right pane. Konqueror almost does it but not quite. Of course the other benefits of konq far outweigh that one trivial detraction. -- k www.filesite.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

konq twin pannel is good but I perfer krusader and mc. mc is really the best and will do *everything*, including wash the kitchen sink. It is the emacs of file browsers. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 OpenSUSE Linux http://en.opensuse.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I wish! I just got done with that. (The wife is teaching tonight at the university.)
It is the emacs of file browsers.
sigh...I know. I use MC often when in command line mode so I don't have to remember cp or mv or chroot or whatever. :P One thing MC doesn't to - that I've really grown accustomed to - is previews. I love my previews. -- k -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

A package of the KDE3 version which doesn't get developer further is in http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Playground/ . Its KDE4 version is much more progressed but I would not recommend to use KDE4 yet. :-) Bye, Steve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
