I don't think so unfortunately. Usually, "file" is pretty smart and looks for file headers which may provide clues as to what type of file it is. For example: # file /cdrom/boot/liveeval liveeval: gzip compressed data, was "liveeval 14122", from Unix, max compression
Or perhaps the file is actually the kernel which can't be mounted. You don't mount files only filesystems.
You can actually mount files too, but I doubt this 636Mb file is a kernel image :) Thanks! Maria _____________________________________________________________ Get YourName@gatormail.ws email Today! PLEASE people. There is NO NEED to "reply to all" on this list. Always reply to the list ONLY. This will eliminate people trying to offer help from getting TWO copies of your response. If someone is reply to a post for help they are on the list SOOOOOO PLEASE reply to list ONLY.

For those who are upset about this issue, let me apologize ahead of time for when I do it and rest assured that I will only send to you individually by accident. The process will be as follows: My most commonly used browser is Netscape Navigator 4.8. If I "reply" then it will only go to the originator of the email, not the list, and that is not what I want to do. So I "reply all", which gets both the list and the originator. Then I have to remember to eliminate the originator, leaving only the list. Sometimes I'm in a hurry & forget. Bottom line - please be patient with us .... it might be an accident! /Hans

This can be solved. Do you use procmail for local email delivery (netscape included)? Then, add a rule like this to your .procmailrc file: # Add a Reply-To to this mail list, and move to the correct file. :0f * ^X-Mailinglist: suse-linux-e | /usr/bin/formail -bfi "Reply-To:suse-linux-e@suse.com" :0 a: $HOME/Mail/lists/suse-linux-e -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
