Any ideas, anyone?
Yes, I have a logitech mouseman+ also. In XF86Setup, choose ps/2, not logitech mouseman+, then it will work properly.
But then the silly wheel won't work (at least not on my machine), and I've grown kind of attached to the silly wheel, after having used it under kernel 2.0.33.SuSE. The situation is actually even worse choosing ps/2 mouse, since X gets a bit of a nuclear fit (moves the mouse cursor, throws up menus, beeps, etc.) whenever the wheel is spun up or down. I thought wheel movements would simply be ignored, but no! I've had a look at these wheel triggered events using xev, and they look like nothing I've seen before (too long to repeat here, unless you're really dying for them). So (bottom line), I rather live with the old problem and give the mouse a free trip round the mouse mat to make X aware of its presence. But thanks anyway! /Markus Svensen - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
