Wired network card not available after booting
Hi! I'm running SuSE 10.1 on my Toshiba Tecra S3 laptop for a couple of months now. Since the installation I got a strange problem. After booting the networkmanager shows only my wireless network card. The wired network card is not available. When I run YaST/Network Devices/Network Card the network card is recognised and work perfectly (I don't even have to complete the wizard!). So since SuSE 10.1 my working day starts always with YaST!!!! Does anyone knows how to solve this? This is my wired network card: 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 15) Thanks in advanced. Marco Mans

This may sound a bit silly, but have you tried plugging it in? NetworkManager will detect and use my wired network as soon as I plug it in, but it's greyed out/not available when it isn't plugged in...
I always plug in the network cable before I start my computer. But I will try to plug it in after booting. Maybe it is recognized then... Marco
Hi, I tried booting my laptop without the network plugged in. After booting I plugged in the networkcable, but nothing happened. I noticed that KnetworkManager was not showing a wired networkcard. After running YaST the network card was detected and also shown in KNetworkManager. Marco.
