[S.u.S.E. Linux] Non Fatal Error from XServer
Can anyone on this list offer any suggestions re this problem? I'm getting nowhere with SuSE's support. Howard Arons ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- To: support@suse.com Subject: (Fwd) Non Fatal Error from XServer Reply-to: hlarons@mail.comcat.com Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 12:38:10 RE: SuSE 5.2 Reg No. [xxxxxx] This is my second request for support; the original request dated June 4 follows. The original request was ack'd by your autoresponder on June 4. Please note that this is the second time (out of two requests!) that I have had to re-request tech support. To say that I'm disappointed with SuSE support is an understatement. However, when I inspect the server log message, I find two puzzling items: Item 1. What does this mean (line breaks are arbitrary)? How can I prevent it? Should I even be concerned? If I disable the xkb option I can't use e.g. my backspace key any longer. System: `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp -w 1-R/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb -xkm -m us -em1 "The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports: " -emp "> " -eml "Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server" keymap/xfree86 /var/tmp/xfree86.xkm' tail: no process killed Item 2. The XServer reports that I have specified a 3 button mouse. This is wrong--I specified a Microsoft 2-button mouse, which is what I have.
