[opensuse] Where is the KDE menu config files?
Recently I have been getting 'Malformed URL' messages when I try and open the Trashcan OR the Network Folders Icon on the desktop. I can drag files to the trash can and they will be deleted however I cannot empty the trash without getting that message. So, I use MC and manually delete the files in the trash can but it would be nice if I could simply do the job from the desktop icon. Related is the Network Folders Icon, the one that allows you to create 'Fish://<some link>' and manage the resulting icons. When I press that icon, I get the same 'Malformed URL' message BUT if I go to konqueror and type 'remote:/', I get a list of defined remote locations and by clicking on one of them, it connects. So, I conclude that the desktop icons AND the icon in the SuSE menu in the KMENU 'Computer' section that point to the 'remote:/' item are somehow grunged or otherwise defective. I cannot figure out how to edit either of these items. I even created a new user that worked and cut and paste the desktop item from that account to my desktop but the error persists. In Kmenu, there doesn't seem to be a way to edit that middle 'Computer' section, only the 'Applications' area and you can drag and drop stuff into the favorites section. Thus, the question is WHERE IS THE CONFIG FILE for KMENU that keeps the information that the Kmenu editor and KMENU itself use. It seems that if I could replace the defective URL somehow in that uneditable 'Computer' section then the menu would work again. I have a small URL of the problem at http://asus.ricreig.com:8001/ There is a 2nd problem associated with the recent Alpha install of 11.0 SuSE that I will be filing a bug report on but the one of interest is entitled 'REMOTEURL'. The *.png files are also gzipped and downloadable if you care to do so.
