RE: [opensuse] enable DHCP server broadcast Suse 11
Hello,
Is there a way to ensure that the DHCP server on Suse will broadcast? Perhaps this is the default setting, but I want to make sure our Vista machines can get a DHCP assigned address.
Thank you,
James
AFIK, DHCP servers don't broadcast. They respond to DHCP requests, which are broadcasts from clients. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Thank you. That makes sense. I have several Vista machines on our network and today none of them are able to get a DHCP address. What a mess. If anyone has found a way to get their Vista machines to get a DHCP address from a Suse Linux DHCP server, I would be most grateful for the howto. I've a DHCP server running on SLES 10 SP2 serving addresses to Vista machines just fine, didn't have to do anything special.. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
