I've just downloaded and built kcdlabel. It works fine if I click on it. I'd like to add it to my menu, but I have two (minor, I'm sure) problems: (1) I can't find anything on adding a reference to it to the menus in the documentation. I'm sure I'm looking in the wrong places, but I really can't find out how to do this. (2) I *THOUGHT* maybe if I pulled up "Preferences>Look and Feel>Menu settings" that I could find out how to do this. When I went through these menu options, KDE showed me a mouse cursor that looked like it was trying to do something, then quit without ever bringing up an menu. I can't get it to start that option at all, and I'm sure this is a problem. All help appreciated as usual. ---Michael -- Satterwhite's Observation #2: In any situation in which theory conflicts with reality, reality wins every time.

If I understand you correctly... I think you are looking for the KDE Menu Editor. You find it under System > Tools > Menu Editor C.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I *THINK* I was asking if it was possible to edit the SUSE menu. I found the KDE editor - and with some kind help from here - managed to get to the KDE menu. -- Satterwhite's Observation #2: In any situation in which theory conflicts with reality, reality wins every time.
Are the changes you made to the menu visible for all user or only the current? I ask since I have a similar problem: When I add as root a program to the menu it is only visible for the root but not for other users. And I don't know how to change it. Fabian

I'm doing things in the oppossite direction, but it appears that my changes are visible everywhere. -- Satterwhite's Observation #2: In any situation in which theory conflicts with reality, reality wins every time.

I just looked, and I believe you might be able to edit it under the SuSE folder, which appears to be the SuSE menu. (8.0 KDE 3.1).
