Upgrading Samba, Location of Binaries
I feel I've caused this trouble for myself, and now I need some help to fix it. I decided to upgrade to Samba 2.0.7. I couldn't find the RPM for SuSE except for 2.0.5a. So I thought, I'll just grab the source and compile. The compile and install went well. The problem is now SuSE is running the wrong "smbd". The init.d script is looking for the binaries in /user/sbin and the install put them under /usr/local/samba/bin. I figure the solution is one of two ways: 1) edit the init.d/smb script to find the new binaries, or 2) put symlinks for the new binaries into the location where SuSE likes it. Which way is most accepted? Or, is there something else I should be doing that I can't comprehend right now? All help is appreciated. ~Dale ________________________________ Dale Schuster MIS Manager Lake Tahoe Horizon Casino Resort dschuster@horizoncasino.com
