Hello all, My wife was admiring KNewsTicker, which I have scrolling across the top of my screen. She asked me to set one up for her, and I thought that it would not be a problem to create a new panel, add KNewsTicker to it, and enter in the RSS sites of her interest (entirely different than mine). The option to add KNewsTicker is grayed out, apparently because I am already using it. Is there a way to run two instances on one user's desktop? We both use the same login, and I do not want to change that. I am running 9.3 and KDE 3.4.0 Level B. If not, is there a second ticker style RSS reader that I can integrate into a panel? Thanks. - James W.

For those of you who want to add a second knewsticker, the author of KNewsTicker offered to me an unsupported hack, with one drawback. Evreytime you restart KNewsTicker (ie restart KDE, reboot) all of the news tickers will assume the settings of the last configured instance of KNewsTicker. Edit the knewsticker.desktop file found in /opt/kde3/share/apps/kicker/applets/, changing the line: X-KDE-UniqueApplet=true to: X-KDE-UniqueApplet=false It works as advertised. -James W.
