This has bugged me for sometime, but after today, I'm a tad more incensed about it. I have the Lexmark Z52 working well, EXCEPT when you have to print in landscape mode in StarOffice. SO, FOOLISHLY, has it's own printer setup, and drivers....it would seem. Is there any way to get SO to work with the system defined driver, in this case lexmarkz52?!! Thanks, Fred -- ----/ / _ Fred A. Miller ---/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Systems Administrator --/ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / Cornell Univ. Press Services -/____/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ fm@cupserv.org
Fred, Seeing you haven't got a reply regarding printing to the Z52 from StarOffice I'll see if I can nut something out. I don't have this printer so not sure how it prints a file normally (not under SO). So if you can answer these couple of questions. 1) What printing system are you using for the Z52?. (CUPS, LPD) 2) Can you issue a command from the prompt to print a file in Landscape mode? If so, please give me an example also an example of how you print a file from the command line.. I think there may be a way of fiddling with the printer queue and options in the ~/.Xpdefaults file. Have a look at Item 10 at: http://www.math.umn.edu/mcim/rm314/tootsofficefaq.shtml You may have to set up two different printers under SO, I for Portrait and another one for Landscape. I might be a bit slow at responding as I don't get much free time. Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------- On 26-Jan-2001 Fred A. Miller wrote:
