Gnome2 update and a few problems
Hey all, I just updated to the gnome2 packages form ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplimentary/GNOME2/update_for_8.0 and after installing the RPMs from base and applications I get Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.gconf2... /opt/gnome2/bin/gconftool-2: relocation error: /opt/gnome2/lib/libgconf-2.so.4: undefined symbol: ORBit_small_flags on SuSEconfig /opt/gnome2/bin/gnome-session: relocation error: /opt/gnome2/lib/libbonobo-activation.so.4: undefined symbol: ORBit_small_flags on start of gnome2 ./nautilus: relocation error: ./nautilus: undefined symbol: ORBit_small_flags on start of nautilus /usr/bin/galeon-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkembedmoz.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory on start of galeon What could be the cause of this? Could the ORBit2 RPM be bad? could the ORBit libs be interfearing with ORBit2 Libs? and is there a SuSE update for Galeon and Mozilla 1.x ? You beat me to it ;) Yeah, the SuSE GNOME2 packages work great with the old GNOME1 packages (both from ftp.suse.com and www.usr-local-bin.org) - I've created a few wrapper scripts to run Evolution, Galeon and AbiWord with anti-aliased fonts to they fit in a bit better, and the same theme for GTK1 as GTK2 It's a lot quicker too!

Can you let us know how to do that? I think it's not obvious to everyone on the list. TIA Kavau __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com

Good morning from within Konqueror, when I right click on a tar.gz file I am offered the choice of opening it in kArchiveur. When I try to do so, I get the following message : There was an error loading the module Karchiveur. The diagnostics is : /opt/kde2/lib/libkarchiveur.so.2: undefined symbol : _vt_10CRecherche.12QPaintDevice I get the same message twice, and the module refuses to load. I am using SuSE 7.2. I have looked at the kArchiveur site, at the KDE site, and done a Google search for any problems with this module, but have found nothing relevant. Does anyone know what is happening? Best wishes Timothy Mason tmason@club-internet.fr
