as the subject says: How do I know if SuSE 9.3 kernel includes FUSE? FYI: FUSE is a kernel component that support userspace filesystems. Various userspace filesystems exist that use FUSE to do the necessary kernel work. FUSE is in the latest 2.6.14-rc1 candidate I believe, and I'm hoping SuSE has in the 9.3 kernel. In particular, I want to experiment with ntfsmount which is supposed to be more feature complete than the ntfs kernel filesystem driver. It's not in 9.3, but it is in 10.0.

It's not in 9.3, but it is in 10.0.
Anders, assuming you have 10.0 OSS, does it also have the ntfsmount program. It is part of the ntfsprogs package. 9.3 has ntfsprogs, but not ntfsmount. I guess it was stripped from 9.3 because it requires FUSE, but now that 10.0will have FUSE it would be nice if ntfsmount was included. In particular the ntfsmount from ntfsprogs 1.11.2 is what I'm hoping works well. Thanks Greg -- Greg Freemyer The Norcross Group Forensics for the 21st Century

No, I have the full version. But hm, ntfsprogs is included, but it doesn't have ntfsmount. The man page is included, but not the binary. I'll have to see if I can find out why that is, hopefully before they declare Gold

ntfsprogs 1.11.2 is what's included
