Ok, another stupid question..... I downloaded xfce3 and want to use it. But when I try to do the following tartx xfce KDE insists on loading (Thanks to the person that told me startx accepts parameters as such!!!!!). I would have thought that xfce would have run in the same manner as gnome (startx gnome). BTW: this is on a SuSE 6.3 system. I downloaded xfce3 and want to use it. But when I try to do the following
Have you done: xfce_setup ???
startx xfce
You can't do that with xfce, as far as I know...

in
the same manner as gnome (startx gnome).
You can add to KDM sessions 'xfwm' to load xfce from KDM login...
BTW: this is on a SuSE 6.3 system.
Thanks CK
Good luck!! Vidor

Do you have xfce installed? If X can't find the specified window manager, it may well just decide to load up your default, rather than giving you a nice error message.
