Well, just got through three days of misery, I mean migration. Let's recap the horror. Can't import our mail from Mozilla; can't get our address books even though we them exported as tab delimited, comma seperated, and ldif. Yeah, I've got some happy users. Gotta like it when a program can't import simple text files. In short, Outlook blows big time.
Side note concerning moving to Exchange: It takes 5 new servers - 5!!! - to handle what was done on one, single, solitary Sun box (4 years old too). A server that also handles web, ldap, newsgroups, listserves, and a couple other apps. Yeah, Windows makes sense - to hardware vendors.

This makes no sense. Contact Paul Robert MArino. He does exactly what you do for HS's in New York and exchange is suicide for a school like yours.
Paul can be contacted through NYLXS, www.nylxs.com. We specialize in providing these kind of solutions for schools and your completely off tract.

Yes but if M$ has paid (bribed) a visit to the dept. admin that person may have had his/her palm greased enough that it will never matter no matter how much money you can prove will be saved in licences/maintenance. Have you ever heard of kick-backs?
I wish I could prove then where I KNOW they have occurred!
