Hello everyone: I'm having a real problem with something called Bug Buddy. If I create or open an older OpenOffice (OO) document - no problem. However, if I open a MS Word doc, everything seems to be fine until I try and 'save' the document. It doesn't seem to matter if I want to retain the original file type or use the OO default file type. Quite often the Bug Buddy appears and, after a series of menus, offers to 'recover' the document. The problem is that the recovery does not include the changes. So, this means that the automatic backup inside OO is not working nor is the 'save' command in OO. Bug Buddy does return me to the original document but I lose all the changes. Any ideas? cheers, Mike

No, you're having a problem with something called OpenOffice :-) Bug Buddy appears as a result of OpenOffice crashing. And I'd say that Bug Buddy appearing is in itself a bug. That is because Bug Buddy cannot report bugs in OpenOffice, it's not in its product list. Isn't that deep... You could do this: Download from ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/OpenOffice.org/9.3/1.9.108-0.1/RPMS/ these packages: OpenOffice_org-1.9... ...debuginfo ...en ...kde or gnome, depending on what you use And do as root rpm --upgrade OpenOffice*

What version are you using? There is a very current version available in the projects directory of the ftp site/ mirrors. The latest is 108. You might want to try the latest, its not 2.0-pre for no reason. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871
