I have ISDN terminal modem on /dev/ttyACM0. Yast2 recognizes this and it is setup with init strings, etc. When I go to Kinternet and dial I get pppd: --> stdin not read/write and $MODEM not set. If I try to use KPPP, it cannot find /dev/ttyACM0, but has selection for /dev/usb/ttyACM0 which it cannot find. I have checked the /etc/wvdial.conf, /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-ppp1, 2, and 3 files, check the /etc/sysconfig/network/providers/Sonic. Can find no problems, but there must be another config file somewhere and I cannot find it. Would anyone have a clue as to what is happening? Art
I seem to remember something similar to this on a Mandrake box. If you cannot find the config file that keeps setting /dev/usb/ttyACM0, then maybe you could link the two. ie link /dev/usb/tty/ACM0 > /dev/ttyACM0 Alternatively in wvdial.conf you can just type in /dev/ttyACM0 manually. Just looking at it $MODEM may refer to an Environment variable which is normally /dev/modem. Perhaps fire up mc and have a look at /dev/modem and see what it is linked to.
