Hi, everybody! Recently, I've become a bit paranoid and started looking into methods of authenticating email. I've looked at PGP and GnuPG, and I *think* I understand the procedure, if not the process itself. At any rate, I have a PGP keypair (generated from the free Windows client), and I have generated a GPG keypair, which is now resident on my Linux machine. The part that puzzles me about the GPG key is now that I have it, I don't know what to do with it :?. I'm really interested in putting a copy on a public server (not entirely unlike what PGP/Windows did *for* me), and putting a fingerprint-style line in my .signature file. Can anyone point me to a decent `NOWTO' concerning this procedure? :} -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Your off to a good start by using mutt!
I'm really interested in putting a copy on a public server (not entirely unlike what PGP/Windows did *for* me)
First get a list of keyservers: host -l pgp.net | grep wwwkeys Next, gpg --keyserver <keyserver> --send-keys <name> Also, to get a key from a keyserver: gpg --keyserver <keyserver> --recv-keys 5D2F850B (5D2F850B is just an example, it probably doesn't exist.)
[I want to] a fingerprint-style line in my .signature file.
gpg --fingerprint
Can anyone point me to a decent `NOWTO' concerning this procedure? :}
The manpage is short and concise... I'd give it a look. You were meant to... it seems like your 'host' command has gone walkabout - do you have bind installed? In my 6.1, host is to be found in package: bind-4.9.7-59 You know what to do... I'm seeing the error: kernel: eth0: Transmit error, Tx status register 82. in /var/log/messages. Anyone know what this is, and why, and if it's something to worry about? Cabling problem? Did you unplug the network cable? Nope. Didn't unplug. The hub is sitting on top of the computer, and I have the cable in a coil to keep it off the floor. Maybe that could cause a problem? It's a 3Com 3c905C-TX card connected to a Linksys hub. Maybe I'm finding out why that linksys hub + 2 linksys cards was only $100USD??? What tools do I have available to debug this type of problem? Well, I just had that same card just up and die on me lastnight for no reason. I would suggest entertaining the idea that the card may be having issues. just my 0.022 On Wed, 19 Apr 2000, Bill Moseley wrote:
