help with finding kernel-source-2.6.8-24.5.i586.rpm
Dear Susers, Does anyone know where can I find the kernel-source-2.6.8-24.10.i586.rpm package for Suse 9.2? I looked on the Suse site and googled without results. Thanks. Gustav Degref.

Humm. 4th hit in google. Index of /pub/suse/i386/9.2/suse/nosrc Go up one parent dir-->then to src kernel-source-2.6.8-24.10.src.rpm is there -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

Thanks for the reply. I found it. I was searching without the .src. in the name and I was getting no hits. Very dumb mistake on my part, but somehow it escaped me and I was stuck. Gustav Degreef.

Glad I was able to help. What I actually searched for was 2.6.8-24 which created a lot more hits. It is always a good idea to use a smaller subset of the search name when looking for software especially for kernel versions which may have different extensions. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

I now have a funny problem with this source package -> kernel-source-2.6.8-24.5.i586.src.rpm. I downloaded 91% of it (40MB) with an ordinary internet dial-up. I did it in bits and pieces over a ten day period using d4x (downloader for x). There was a four day break in between and now when I try to get the rest it is gone from the repository: http://mirrors.sth.sze.hu/linux/suse/i386/update/9.2/rpm/src/kernel-source-2... I googled again for the same package and only get a few hits, one of which is the same repository, but when I go to it the package is not there. Originally it was the only repository I found for this package. Does anyone have an idea where I can get the remaining 9%? This has me stumped! Thanks. Gustav Degreef.
