[opensuse] Crazy mouse
I seem to lost partial control of my mouse. I' m using Opensuse 10.1 with a Logitech optical USB mouse. It seems to have an attraction for the lower left side or the upper right side of the screen. Anybody has experience with this? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, I've seen that in the past with optical mice, mostly Logitech. First you should eliminate other possible problems such as not running acpi on a machine that should be running acpi (and possibly vise versa). When I last saw this it was due to acpi not being available in earlier versions of Suse, when I was running a machine that absolutely depended on having acpi available to keep all the ports working. Bios dates prior to 2001 will cause suse not to load the acpi moduals, and may require acpi=force as a boot parameter. The second thing that can whack out some optical mice is a wood grain surface. It can completely lose track of where it is on such surfaces. I've found that a clean white sheet of paper works better than any grained surface. Try this first, as its an easy fix. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
