Tungsten C (Palm Pilot) Connection Problem
Hello SuSE folks, I need a practical help on how to synchronize my Tungsten C with SuSE 9.1 Linux I was truing to use Jpilot. During attempt to synchronize it give the following messages: Syncing on device /dev/pilot Press the HotSync button now pi_bind invalid argument Check your serial port and settings Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND Finished I've looked in /dev but couldn't find any pilot devices. If I need to create one what would be its major and minor numbers? Thank you in advance for any help. Alex

I assume you are using a USB connection. My palm uses /dev/ttyUSB1. Make a soft link from /dev/pilot to /dev/ttyUSB1, assuming also your palm is connected to /dev/pilot. This is in the File>Preferences>Settings screen. Richard

If Richard's advice doesn't work, try /dev/ttyUSB0 (this is the port my Tungsten T uses). It *should* work with one or other of these ports.
